For Apprentices
Often individuals feel trapped by the false choice between ‘Go to School’ or ‘Get a Job.’ With apprenticeship, the choice is no longer either/or but it can be both! Apprenticeship is a job training method that dates back to the invention of professional trades. Widely known in construction and union-based trades, but not restricted to those arenas. In fact, apprenticeships can be found across the nation in almost any sector of work. The U.S. Department of Commerce says, “The skilled trades that support our nation’s construction industry still represent the core of American apprenticeships, but many other industries, like healthcare and information technology (IT), are adopting apprenticeships to create a skilled workforce for jobs they cannot otherwise fill easily, if at all.”
Economic stability for many individuals comes in the form of a job for today, and a career path for tomorrow. Apprenticeship is a contract between an employer and an apprentice for a structured job for today regardless of current knowledge of the field, with a structured path to proficiency and even mastery including systematic wage increases for increased knowledge. Build A Pro has a passion for matching people’s talents and abilities with opportunities. Build A Pro connects people to apprenticeship employment in a variety of different fields and industry sectors including traditional and non-traditional apprenticeship trades. Build A Pro believes the apprenticeship model aligned with the individual's talent creates the ideal formula for long-term workforce placement success.
