Business & Professional Services
Manage the engines of industry. Every company needs organized people to handle their money, their staff, and their projects. You will learn the inner workings of a professional office, from managing budgets and insurance to coordinating teams and marketing products.
Specialized Mastery
Business and professional services are essential to every sector of our local economy. Build A Pro partners with firms specializing in financial services, insurance, human resources, marketing, and project management. As an apprentice, you are employed directly by one of our partner organizations. Rather than a general business overview, your training focuses on achieving mastery within your employer’s specific area of operation. This focused approach ensures you become a highly skilled specialist in your chosen professional field.
What You Will Actually Do
Business and professional apprentices are integrated into the office environment from the first week. Your daily tasks are determined by the specific specialization of your employer. You will work alongside experienced professionals and managers to master industry specific software, compliance standards, and strategic workflows. You could rotate through various functions within your specialty, such as client relationship management, financial reporting, human resource coordination, or project scheduling.
A Career, Not a Job
Build A Pro apprenticeships are structured between one and five years depending on the level of technical mastery the specific professional role requires.
- One Year Programs: Designed to equip you as a useful professional in your field, such as a Customer Service Specialist or Junior Administrative Coordinator.
- Three Year Programs: Typically the duration required to secure a Journeyworker level certification as a Financial Service Representative, HR Specialist, or Project Coordinator.
- Five Year Programs: Reserved for Master level certifications in management, financial analysis, or senior project leadership.
Each apprenticeship length is pre-decided based on current employer needs. However, your training could be expanded even after the initial program is completed while remaining with the same employer. This allows for a continuous path toward higher professional designations and leadership roles.
